Our Chamber of Commerce is committed to promoting the natural resources of our lakes and rivers, the educational opportunities of our fine public schools, and the higher education at the University of Florida. in addition, the business environment here attracts a wide variety from heavy industry to high technology.
The City of Newberry received the 'Main Street' designation from the State of Florida in 2006 which will enable us to greatly enhance the look of our downtown area. It was also the year our chamber changed its name to reflect our business partners in Jonesville. The Newberry Jonesville Chamber of Commerce will have a banner year in 2009.
All in all this is an exciting time to be a resident of Newberry and Jonesville. We encourage you to get involved, get to know your city and community, and enjoy what we already know to be true. This is a great place to live!

To facilitate the interaction between the citizens, government and businesses of Newberry and Jonesville , Florida to improve both the economic welfare and quality of life.

We Meet
Our Monthly General Membership Luncheon is the Second Thursday of Every Month at Noon. Please check our events page to see further details on location, sponsorship and speakers .
Committees
Membership Committee (Currently Chaired by Director Jeff Levinson)
This committee is to provide tangible benefits to the membership, to encourage participation, to educate the membership as to the services and features available to them, and to expand and retain the membership base and to communicate issues.
Events and Banquet Committee (Currently Chaired by Director Christy Finnigan)
This committee meets to review and develop ideas for Chamber sponsored and community events. Assist with volunteers at local networking events for example the Afterhours events, and Annual Banquet, and procuring booths at local festivals and organizing the manning of those booths as a chamber benefit. Members get to promote their business while promoting the chamber. Current local festivals are : Newberry Main Street Unity Day , The Watermelon Festival, Newberry Main Street Fall Market Festival, and The Tioga Arts Festival.
Chamber Political Action Community (CPAC) (Currently Chaired by Director Joy Glanzer)
This committee's goal is to sustain a high level of communication between the Chamber and the community at large. They work closely with City and County Officials to promote a healthy economic climate and partnership between business, government and the community.
Budget and Finance Committee (Currently Chaired by Treasurer Trent Snyder)
This committee works with the Treasurer to develop near- and long-term financial plans and strategies for our chamber.
Paper Publicity and Public Relations (Currently Chaired by Director Joy Glanzer)
This committee maintains the advertising and promotion for chamber events. Organizing and promoting the directory, relocation packet, and monthly Newsletters. Assist with taking pictures at local events.
Online Publicity/E-mail Committee (Currently Chaired by Director Anne Maria Bello)
This Committee handles our online publicity and public relations, insuring that the website is current, and portrays the face of the chamber.
Ambassador Committee (Currently Co-Chaired by: Director Patricia Yates and Director Kerri Moore -- Additionally assisted by Director Rocky Voglio (Food) and Clay Martin (Speakers)
Ambassadors are volunteers who visibly represent their companies to our membership by serving as hosts and hostesses at the monthly luncheon. Getting members to volunteer for activities and welcome new members. They will also reach out to chamber members to offer assistance and recognize long term members.
Town of Tioga Committee (Currently Chaired by Director Ryan Beacher)
This committee promotes Chamber memberships and activity in the Town of Tioga / Jonesville area. Also assists ambassadors with the quarterly luncheons in that area.
Scholarship Committee (Currently Chaired by Director Robert Fillyaw)
This committee organizes runs and promotes the Newberry Jonesville Scholarship fund which provides money for continuing education of local students.
Bylaws and Procedure Manual Committee (Currently Seeking Chair)
This committee works the first part of the year to insure that are bylaws are current and up to date and then reviews and works on our procedure manual.
Office/Internship Committee (Currently Chaired by Director Anne Bello)
This committee organizes, runs, and promotes our Office, and while doing so lends assistance to other committees while volunteering their time in the office.
Officers (Executive Committee)
This committee is comprised of the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.
The President - Oversees all committee Chairs, and also chairs the Nominating committee while being the public face of the Newberry Jonesville Chamber of Commerce.
The Vice President - Presides over the Annual Banquet Committee, which is an extension of the Events committee.
The Treasurer - Presides over the Finance Committee
The Secretary - Presides over the Historical Committee, which is to preserve the record keeping of the Chamber of Commerce.
